The aim of Outside the Inbox is to encourage interaction between members of the email marketing community. It will enable us to exchange tips and tricks, discuss strategy and industry news within a safe, friendly environment.

In order to keep the community welcoming to everyone, please respect the following rules when using Outside the Inbox:

1. You are responsible for what you write: you have the right to express yourself online, but remember to be graceful to other users and respect their views.


2. No blatant self-promotion: it’s fine to mention the name of your company, and tell us what you do in the Introduce Yourself threads, but please don’t spam other members with promotion.


3. Be wise with the information you share: don’t publish sensitive data, such as your personal contact details or the secret recipe to your company’s success. Your boss may not be happy with that!


4. Identify yourself: stay above board and do tell us who you are. Members who appear to be using fake names or promote a product anonymously will be moderated or removed.

Any contribution to the community must;

Be accurate (where it states facts).

Be genuinely held (where it states opinions).

Comply with the law applicable in England and Wales and in any country from which it is posted.

Be relevant.

A Contribution must not:

Be defamatory of any person.

Be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory.

Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.

Disclose the name, address, telephone, mobile or fax number, e-mail address or any other personal data in respect of any individual.

Infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark of any other person.

Breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence.

Be in contempt of court.

Be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person.

Impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person.

Give the impression that the Contribution emanates from Outside the Inbox moderators if this is not the case.

Advocate, promote, incite any third party to commit, or assist any unlawful or criminal act.

Upload, post, email, transmit, or otherwise make available any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "link farms," "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," 'pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation.

Contain a statement which you know or believe, or have reasonable grounds for believing, that members of the public to whom the statement is, or is to be, published are likely to understand as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

Breach of these rules

When Outside the Inbox considers that a breach of the Content Standards above has occurred, it may at its discretion take such action as it deems appropriate. Failure to comply with these Rules constitutes a material breach of the terms of use on which you are permitted to use the Community, and may result in Outside the Inbox taking all or any of the following actions:

Immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the Community.

Immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any Contribution already posted on the Community.

Issue of a warning to you.

Legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach.

Further legal action against you.

Disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as Outside the Inbox reasonably feels is necessary or as required by law.

Outside the Inbox excludes liability for all action it may take in response to breaches of these Rules. The actions described above are not limited, and Outside the Inbox may take any other action it reasonably deems appropriate.
